Expect nothing less for your car at higher power levels = reduced drivability.UNLESS your car is manual and you will keep your car rev happy for max power in boost rangeģ) Your gas mileage will drop off the deep end.Ĥ). WRX's and STi's pushing 320-350 whp right now (albeit on single scrolls) only get major spool anywhere past 3500 rpm. Twin scroll turbos cost real beans in the US market.since those guys frolic around on their single scroll setup (cheap like peas).Ģ) At 400 whp levels on a 2.0L, you're gonna be facing major lag. The JDM Legacy also carries a higher compression than the export/USDM/2.5L cars.so watch out for that too.īut, either EJ20 (be it Ej205 or Ej207) can give you the 400 whp.with a little more finesse on the 205 though due to weaker internals/open deck block.ġ) Your car's gonna need a twin scroll turbo, with larger injectors to get that done. The Spec B in fact carries something closer to a WRX than an STi engine.as the Spec B carries an open deck block IIRC. So in those engines, internals are different, cams, ports, compression ratio, etc etc.Įven if the Spec B carries a derivative of the Ej207.Later model EJ207's ( post '04) along with the EJ205, all carry hypereutectic internals, and different cams and ports than the older EJ207. The STi engine is an EJ207.and earlier (as in PRE MY04) versions run forged internals. Say what? I MIGHT be wrong.but isn't the 2.0L Spec B engine an EJ20 5? Mods should be the same to get a legacy to 13's.same engine after all.
